Improving your performance & wellbeing
Hi there, welcome to my website. If I were asked to summarise what I do and how I do it in just one simple sentence this would be it:

I work with you to enhance the quality of your thinking by improving your awareness of self and situation. This helps you make your best decisions so you can progress towards your goal and overcome any challenges with greater effectiveness and efficiency.

The amount of time you need to invest in coaching will depend on the size of your goal.
-
Is it a small or a large goal?
-
Do you a particular time-period to achieve your goal
-
How many obstacles are between you and your goal?
-
Are they clearly defined obstacles, or as yet unknowns?
What you can expect from us working together:
01
We’ll improve your quality of thinking and overcome blocks to your self-confidence.
Coaching enhances your quality of thinking via a deeper exploration of your thoughts and feelings. Together, we illuminate your business or career aspirations so that you can experience them from a vantage point beyond fears, confusion and the "shoulds" that can cloud the decision-making process.
Ideas for what to do, how to do it, and when to do it become inspired by your highest quality of thinking, helping you make decisions that best reflect your unique and specific way of thinking and behaving.
02
We'll explore what motivates you towards your business or career goals.
We will use an awareness of your core values to deepen your understanding of the meaning and purpose behind your goals.
Core values work is rarely a part of our formal education and I think this is a huge oversight. Decisions and actions that align with your core values motivate and focus your work and provide feelings of greater fulfilment too. They also fuel resilience when facing obstacles and challenges because what you are trying to achieve matters to you at a deep and meaningful level.
03
We’ll harness the powerful present and adopt a reflective practice to drive on-going momentum.
The present is paramount in coaching because action can only ever take place in the now, and action is how you get results.

So, you will plan for an achievable action that you commit to taking in between each and every coaching session we have together. These achievable actions will be designed to get you testing your ideas out in the real world as quickly as possible, so you can uncover unforeseen obstacles as early as possible.
You will also use a reflective practice at the beginning of each coaching session designed to help you bank the learning that comes from experience. Together, this action and reflection cycle creates a steady momentum towards your goals.
04
We’ll create a learning environment unlike others.
If you’re looking to be told what you should do and how you should to do it, I’ll not be the right coach for you. Mentors, consultants, trainers and teachers all work by transfer of information from them to you - coaching is different.

Scientifically-robust coaching studies show that developing your ability to formulate decisions from your own thinking is more effective than following the advice of others. This is because the suitability of advice varies. Even if the circumstances are exactly the same, the person acting upon the advice will also be guided by their own lived experiences, behavioural traits, contexts and timelines.

Restraint from advice-giving is a learnt and specialised skill achieved as a part of my coaching training with The University of Cambridge. Whilst advice is usually well-meaning and inspired by a desire to help, it’s the restraint from advice-giving that makes my coaching such a unique and effective learning environment.
A little about me:
I am passionate about coaching because it empowers people towards meaningful, purposeful, successful, satisfying lives. You want to achieve results, and I want to help you do it!

I love how every person is unique, and celebrate differences of thinking amongst individuals, across teams, and throughout cultures and societies. This is why I coach, it’s a help-by-talking profession that takes in all your unique qualities, talents and experiences and helps you to create your best possible life - be that in your business, career or any other area of your life.

Before becoming a coach I worked in the media industry for 15 years, first as a producer in a news and talkback radio station in Australia, then as a picture editor at the Financial Times in London. Skills from my media career translate really well into coaching, as at the core of both coaching and journalism is a genuine and whole-hearted interest in people. In my media career, I made sense of a broad range of information in-the-moment, and asked effective and thought-provoking questions to gather stories. Now, as a coach, I use these same skills to help people to better understand and take charge of their own story.

Credentials
Being able to provide you with the highest quality of coaching service was crucial to me, so my coaching qualification comes from the University of Cambridge. This means that the coaching service you will receive is built upon the strongest of academic foundations, and influenced by a broad range of scientifically proven coaching models and methodologies.

I have also taken over 20 hours of certified Acceptance and Commitment Training with Dr Russ Harris and ICF Certified Group Coaching Training with Ana Paula Nacif. As an avid learner, I continue taking trainings, both formal and informal, to further develop my coaching skills and to ensure my knowledge is as up-to-date as possible.
I am a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and adhere to their Core Competencies Framework and The Global Code of Ethics.
Let's chat and see if we are a good fit first:
The best way for us to decide if I am the right coach for you is for us to jump on a call for 30 mins together.
This is free and usually done via Zoom. During this call, you can tell me a little about your goal for the coaching work and ask me any questions you might have. Then, we will do a 20mins coaching session to help you decide if my coaching style feels like the right fit for you.
The best way for us to organise this into our diaries is for you to drop me an email first and from there I can offer you some dates and times for you to choose from.
